Revitalising a non-responsive site that gave mixed messages and low conversion rate – their site design was convoluted and information heavy, weakening its ability to sell tickets and creating a disjointed user experience.
The Theatre Royal is one of England’s leading theatres. The UK Theatre Awards crowned them the ‘North East’s Most Welcoming Theatre’ four years in a row, so they needed a website that mirrored that welcome and gave a seamless experience.
A redesign of the site with a focus on the shows and ticket conversion, based on a newer version of Tessitura at the helm. Amazon Web Services was used along with load balancing and EC2 to ensure a stable environment for high demand sales events.
A 50% increase in conversions through e-commerce and the site also garnered positive feedback from new and existing users.
